In Buckhead, the Atlanta History Center comprises a 30,000-square-foot museum, the 1928 Swan House mansion, the 1845 Tullie Smith Farm with outbuildings and 32-acre gardens. This will surely please all family members. The acres are filled with gardens, wildlife trails, woodlands blooming with native flora, rare plants and granite outcroppings. Enjoy dining at the Swan Coach House restaurant. The History Museum features permanent and changing exhibits on subjects such as the Civil War, African-American heritage, and southern folk arts. A fairly new permanent exhibit "Down the Fairway with Bobby Jones" opened recently. Don't miss the Metropolitan Frontiers: Atlanta, 1835 to 2000, an engaging look at Atlanta's past, located to the right when entering the building. Afterhours Blues Concerts complete with cash bar and bar-b-q are now held. Guided tours of the farm or mansion are available at an additional cost.
